ANDY BORDEN has hated Christmas ever since tragedy struck her as a kid. Ironically she’s to get married this Christmas to her fiancé Mitch who’s tired of Andy being a scrooge. But Andy’s fairytale romance comes to an end when Mitch asks for his ring back.
NICK FLEMMING has been an alcoholic to ease the pain of his past. Having lost his job before Christmas he was lucky to find a job as a Santa Clause. But Nick’s Christmas is a lonely one and even though his best friend tries to persuade him to see his family he doesn’t have to courage to face them.
When Andy confronts Nick as Santa at the mall causing a little kid to start crying and everyone to scowl at her, Nick can’t help wonder about the woman. When both of them recognize each other at a bar later Nick proposes helping Andy find her joy in Christmas again and make peace with her past. Andy doesn’t believe Nick’s plan will work but she agrees to the plan. Nick comes around every day showing her different Christmassy things to reignite that spark inside of her. And slowly but surely more than one spark is ignited and Andy has to make the hard choice between her ex fiancé and her sexy mall Santa.
