The book centers around a common ordinary carpenter named Josh who lives in an abandoned church in the city of Bethany, Wisconsin. Josh performs a heroic deed that becomes a miracle. Several other healing miracles occur at the hand of Josh, or so the townspeople and the media proclaim. And this all happens around Christmas. Try to imagine what would happen if you suddenly had the miracle gift of healing. What would your life be like? What kind of media attention would you receive? How would it change or disrupt your life? What are some of the problems you would experience? How would people and the media try to manipulate you for their own selfish purposes?
