This is an endearing and well-written story about love and Christmas in the 1950s.
This book brings back childhood memories of living in the Midwest in the 1950s. I can relate to many things mentioned in the story… the antique ornaments, searching out a real tree that looked good, and making do with what we had to work with. By seeing how others lived, we realize we are not much different, and stories like this are comforting to the soul.
