This is a great read that depicts a "magical" time during much simpler times. It captures when we as a society, weren't too smart for our own good. The book captures the connection between the Christmas holiday and trains.
In this book, the authors bring back magical memories associated with Christmas in Virginia's Legendary Santa Trains. During the middle of the 20th century, Cox Department Store in Ashland started employing the Santa Train to bring the jolly old man to town. As long as that lasted, little ones got to ride the train every year. Of course they also sat on Santa's lap and told the man from the North Pole what they wanted for Christmas. That tradition continued until the store went defunct in 1960.
